Outer Banks Restaurant Week
Outer Banks Restaurant Week runs from Friday, May 9, 2014 to Saturday, May 17, 2014. Restaurant Week includes over 20 restaurants on the Outer Banks from Duck to Manteo. The idea of restaurant week is to encourage you to branch out of your normal eateries on your visit, and taste all that the Outer Banks restaurants have to offer. Chefs combine their freshest and OBX inspired dishes in a course style dining, lunch or dinner.This is a simpler version of Taste of the Beach; no ticket purchase necessary. Each restaurant will serve their regular menu plus an Outer Banks Spring Restaurant Week menu. This menu will hold their 3 or 4-course meal selections that they have creatively prepared. If you are looking for something special to do on Mother Day, this is a great idea, as it starts the Friday before.Too many good choices to decide? Well, thankfully there are 9 days in Spring Restaurant week. If you can't stay for the whole nine days, I have some suggestions from my personal list of favorites; Red Sky Cafe, Blue Point, Colington Cafe, Outer Banks Brewing Station and Stripers Bar and Grille.Red Sky Cafe is serving up three courses of Chef Wes Stepp's signature dishes, which are always tasty and sometimes even "tastefully fit". Blue Point is soundfront dining located in the Waterfront Shops in Duck. Their food and presentation always manages to amaze me, even if it's just stopping in for lunch. Colington Cafe is a beautiful Victorian house serving some of the most creative dishes on the beach, you will leave knowing you will be back again soon.
